The calculation of overweight and obesity is a fundamental task within cardiological clinical assessment, just like measuring blood pressure or heart rate.

Why is it important? So how do you calculate it? The formula is called "Body Mass Index" and consists of the patient's weight divided by the height squared (Weight/Height^2). For example, if a person weighs 90 kg and is 1.70 meters tall, their BMI is 31.1. Normal BMI ranges from 20 to 25, considered within healthy parameters, while overweight is between 25 and 30, and obesity is over 30.
